SOCIAL ART-GUIDED TOUR: Weaving The Future VII or Traditional Practices-Contemporary Trauma
The opening of the group exhibition ”Weaving the Future VII or Traditional Practices – Contemporary Trauma” with the participation of 44 Greek artists, was held with great success, the exhibition started with the Greetings from the Mayor of Hydra Mr. George Koukoudakis and the former Mayor Mr. Kostas Anastopoulos, as well as the Speech of the Curator Mrs. Efi Michalaros on Wednesday, July 24, 2024.
Then, a tour took place starting from the Lazaros Koundouriotis Historical Mansion, the Tetsis Home & Studio and the other 12 venues where the exhibition extends, with the support and auspices of the Municipality of Hydra. The tour that lasted 2 hours was attended by a large number of people who alternated, as well as some of the participating artists.
The exhibition lasts until August 25, every Sunday at 11:30 there will be a guided tour at the Lazaros Koundouriotis Historical Mansion and the Tetsis Home & Studio and every Wednesday at 19:30, in the other venues starting from the Hotel Hydroussa.
In a special event (the date will be announced soon), the Melina Mercouri Hall will take place a series of performances by the participating artists, videos will be screened and a Dialogue of the Curator with the visual artists and the audience will follow on the theme: “Women’s Work and Cottage Industry from Antiquity and Klotho to the present day. Practices and tactics, how they have changed, evolved or been altered”.
Also, soon will be announced Creative Workshops at the Lazaros Koundouriotis Historical Mansion with the Head of the Visual Arts Workshops of the Municipality of Hydra, Mρs. Annalina Fotopoulou.
