BOOK: Mous Lamrabat-Blessings from Mousganistan, Lannoo Publishing

Mous Lamrabat Blessings from Mousganistan Self-taught photographer Mous Lamrabat premiered his exhibition “Blessings from Mousganistan” at Amsterdam’s Foam Art Festival in 2022. His collection of images brings you into the “world of Mous Lamrabat,” filled with perfect positioning of subject and scenery, vibrant color, and creative subversion of popular culture. Lamrabat’s images please the eye but also deliver sociological messages. After the successful solo exhibition “Blessings”, there finally is a book with all the works of the acclaimed Moroccan-born, Belgium-raised artist Mous Lamrabat. It encompasses a body of work that has been more than five years in the making. His photographs are playful and surrealistic, every so often subtly provocative, but always vibrant and fun. His work is exhilarating and at times a confronting fusion of his diasporic life, using beauty and humour to create powerful new narratives related to sensitive issues like racism and religion. The world of Mous Lamrabat is a place where life is at peace and people are loved, no matter where you are from or where you are going.-Dimitris Lempesis
