OPEN STUDIO: Katerina Tsebeli

Katerina Tsebeli, Studio view, © & Courtesy the artist“The decision to open my studio and present works from the thematic series “Fundamental Fallacy” stemmed from my desire to personally guide visitors and engage in communication within an intimate space. Through diverse mediums like painting, sculpture, installation, and light art, I explore various materials—from traditional to discarded objects and mundane like egg cases and chicken wire. What unifies these works is their conceptual foundation, rooted in the innovative idea of the “Diffusion Taboo.” This theory delves into hidden links between life cycle stages, the body/spirit division, societal norms, and their implications. The ultimate aim of my art is to challenge conventional perceptions and cultivate a more harmonious coexistence with nature and amongst ourselves. “Open Studio” is open 7-9pm. and other days and times by arrangement. It is hosted on the ground floor of Villa Catani, which at the end of the tourist season becomes our winter residence!–Katerina Tsebeli
