OPEN CALL: Transart Doctoral Students Seek Proposals for Trans-local Program
Transart doctoral students seek proposals for workshops, talks, sonic or somatic sessions for a trans-local program with the working title Anthologies, from Greek anthologia, anthos: flower and -logia: collection, gather, assortment, assemblage, accumulation, in the sense of miscellany. The call is directed at forward-thinking artists, designers, theorists and other creatives with practices extending beyond academic boundaries and structures, who are framing and disseminating their research innovatively.
The aim of this series is to collectively consider and expand upon the evolution of the cohort’s research projects through a year of public intensives taking generative and exploratory forms that foster and support independent practices moving forward in proximity. Transart and LJMU will act as the institutional frame for this constellation of diverse student-led content and processes, to concentrate, question, celebrate and share knowledge.
This Transart student-led 2023–24 initiative will culminate in a large-scale practice/sharing, multi-platform series of events under the auspices of a July 2024 “Anthologies Assembly”, as well as a publication documenting the year-long process and outcome.
Students and program leaders will review proposals, make contact by July 15, and invite final syllabi and session descriptions by August 1 for September 1 submission.
The Institute is on break for August. See past intensive sessions here. Please submit your proposals here.
