MIRAGES LXIX

May is a month that is associated with flowers and nature, which is why many of the exhibitions running in museums and galleries this month feature elements from nature, flowers, or even its colors. Moreover, today, more than ever, in a time when the need to save the planet is urgent (!).

Within this context, dreamideamachine resident-Athens is launching the first of a series of exhibitions, as part of the exchanges it is preparing with artists from abroad, in public and private spaces, as well as with corresponding spaces in Paris, entitled “Nature, Nature, Nature Vol. 1”.

Artists celebrate nature in individual and group exhibitions such as “La Vie En Rose” featuring among them works by: Cy Twombly, Jannis Kounellis, Claude Monet, Andy Warhol, Isa Genzken and Georgia O’Keeffe at Museum Brandhorst. “Amati Fiori” a photographic exhibition of works by Mario Carrieri. For the last forty years, Mario Carrieri’s artistic research has been focused on the theme of the tragic nature of human existence. The paintings by Harold Ancart titled “Painting” at Gagosian Gallery, the sculptural installations by Haegue Yang titled “Several Reenactments” at S.M.A.K., the works by Vivian Suter at Secession in Vienna, and those of Allora & Cazadilla at the Serralves Museum.

But also, the work of many artists whose names are associated with May and the column “Traces”, such as Sally Mann, James Turrell, Jan Dibbets, Nobuyoshi Araki, and Agnès Varda. Also, architects whose works are directly connected to Architecture and the environment: Aldo Rossi, Herzog & de Meuron, Christian de Portzamparc, Gordon Bunshaft, Paulo Mendes da Rocha, and Frei Paul Otto.
