PRESENTATION: Maria Stamati & Costas Vittis-Without Which, Not/Sine Qua Non
Can two artists, who use different expressive media meet?, the common conceptual axis that unites the work of Maria Stamati and Costas Vittis., in an interesting and challenging coexistence, is their desire to explore and invest the limits of Expression with meaning. The process by which the human being becomes aware of himself and communicates with others.

The two-person exhibition “Without Which, Not / Sine Qua Non” juxtaposes works by Maria Stamati and Costas Vittis. In a transversal journey into the depths of human existence, of the subconscious, of the changes and sequences that follow and are carried out in a path of self-determination that shapes the individual expression both esoterically and in relation to others. Maria Stamati using as threshold the “expressive” painting and speech, develops her works in space, composing installations, where she often adds threads and fabric or lace, building mesh, constructions and plexiglass, creates existential palimpsests with layers of materials, concepts and symbols. Costas Vittis synthesizes his own narrative using photographic allegories and symbolic images, which stem from his own thoughts, observations and personal experiences, expressing the core of human existence.
