OPEN CALL: The Inherited Earth Residency at Tinos Island-Greece
How do we manage a piece of land?
Are we now able to transcend the divide between human society and the environment?
How updating and communicating aesthetic and functional issues can democratize public space and the appearance of contemporary island buildings/monuments
In a barren and intensely diverse area of the island of Tinos, (Exo Meria), NWMW NPO invites creators from all cultural fields to reside and create an on-site project ephemerally for two weeks.
Fe26 project
The inherited earth residency is part of the Fe26 project, a collective research program by the NWMW NPO team that seeks to highlight the relationship between man and matter. The Fe26 project brings together an interdisciplinary group of people to exchange knowledge and practices around metal as matter, material, and object in conjunction with locus, crafts and identity. In this aspect, the NWMW team has envisioned along with curator Christos Artemis “The inherited earth” Fe26 residency.
Eligibility:
The inherited earth Fe26 residency supports the development of artistic / artistic research projects in any of its formats, regardless of the participant discipline – creators, architects, entrepreneurs, scientists, technologists, artists, academics, researchers etc –
Maximum: 15 projects
Facilities:
Small production fee, housing, travel to/from Tinos, sustenance, and other resources.
Process
The selection for the inherited earth Fe26 residency open call will be done in two phases. Phase I follows a selection by the curatorial team based on the documentation given. During Phase II the selected applications, through small interviews and ZOOM meetings based on each production will be reviewed by the curator Christos Artemis together with an advisory board.
The working languages of the inherited earth Fe26 residency are Greek and English.
