MIRAGES LXIV
This month Platforms Project is celebrating its 10th anniversary. The Platforms Project is an institution that supports artists, in an art fair where they themselves communicate and present their work, through collaboration and synergy. What excites, not only the art critics and journalist , but also the art lovers and all the other visitors , is the freshness and vitality of the artworks and the participation of artists from more and more countries every year. This year in Platforms Project 2022 participate 62 platforms from 26 countries with 800 artists with artworks that are the most vivid and powerful commentary on society and the issues that plague it (!)
Except artworks of the main exhibitions, extremely interesting are: the vast number of performances (7 to 11 every day); the educational program “Platforms Project for All 2022” designed for children from the Dutch platform EX-MÊKH and the artist and art teacher Ellen Rodenberg. The program which is drawing inspiration from the spatial design of the Platforms Project exhibition, the Tower of Babel and the recycling of new ideas, aims to introduce children to contemporary art; the talks (5 to six every day). During the Platforms Project, workshops of the Athens School of Fine Arts will present student works and specially designed projects. Open Studios are presented for the fifth consecutive year as a parallel project of the Platforms Project.
This year part of Platforms Project 2022 are two parallel exhibitions: “Boundless Borders”, an exhibition by members of ID:I gallery in Stockholm curated by Weronika Bela at Metaphor Athens (Dorileou 10, Athens) and the exhibition “The October Show” at IFAC Athens (11 Galaxia Str. Athens,) a curatorial project set out to document the contemporary art scene in Athens as adumbrated by Greek art professionals.
