OPEN CALL: Liquid Architecture Seeks New Director

Active since 2000, Liquid Architecture is a leading Australian organisation for artists working with sound and listening. Liquid Architecture is based on Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung Country, at the Collingwood Yards contemporary art precinct, in Melbourne, Australia. Our program sits at the intersection of contemporary art and experimental music, expressed through a range of presentation, publishing, research and commissioning activities.

The Liquid Architecture Board seeks a new Director to listen forward, sound out, and evolve our organisation together to meet the future needs of artists, stakeholders, and communities. Our commitment is to experimentation, not as a genre, but as an ethic shared across cultures, artforms, and contexts; reflecting the intersectionality of our community (artists, audiences, stakeholders) and their experiences, needs, and desires.

Having recently refreshed the board and secured Creative Victoria funding for a new cycle of activities, Liquid Architecture are looking for an experienced creative and cultural leader with a commitment to experimental artistic practices to develop and implement a vision for our next phase.

First Peoples, people with disability, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, and gender diverse people, are strongly encouraged to apply. The Board welcomes applications locally, nationally and interanationally, and will consider job-sharing proposals or expressions of interest from collaborative entities.

For more information about the opportunity, and how to express your interest, head to the Candidates’ Pack here. Applications due Sunday, September 18, 11.59pm AEST.
