OPEN CALL: Residency Projects for Villa Albertine Season 2
Applications for Villa Albertine Season 2 are open now through January 20, 2022. This application process aims to select innovative residency projects that will take place in the United States during 2023, for a period of between one and three months.
The call is addressed to creators, researchers, and cultural professionals whose project is backed by a French partner, and who can demonstrate proficiency in conversational English. Both public and private institutions may serve as partners, and support can take one of three forms: help with conception of the residency project, promotion of the residency, and post-residency follow-up (something as simple as a conference, for example). These partners are not asked to contribute financially to the residency.
Villa Albertine values diversity in applicant profiles, whether in terms of gender, geography (there is no nationality requirement), discipline, or professional background. The Villa supports both established and emerging creators and thinkers.
Candidates may propose either a residency anchored in one city, or a travelling residency in several stages throughout the United States. Unlike a traditional residency, the goal is not a final material product. Rather, Villa Albertine’s exploratory residencies are intended to advance cultural exchange with American society and creative ecosystems.
