ART FAIRS:Abu Dhabi Art Fair 2015
The Abu Dhabi Art fair returns for its 7th edition in 2015 from 18-21/11/15 at the Manarat Al Saadiyat arts and culture centre in Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Cultural District. An exhibition that in recent years has shifted the purchasing power, winning a remarkable place, deservedly, as respects the history and propose new ideas arising from the local culture and history.

This year’s fair features 40 galleries from around Europe, Asia, North America, and the Middle East showcasing a wide range of works by emerging and internationally renowned artists across five sections, 40 established galleries from Europe, Asia, North America and the Middle East will showcase exceptional artworks from emerging artists alongside celebrated and iconic pieces by the world’s foremost artists. Galleries continue to exhibit under the five sections of the fair: Modern-Contemporary & Design Galleries, Signature shows presenting emerging artists, Beyond with large-scale installations, sculptures and site-specific commissions, two large-scale installations have been unveiled at Manarat Al Saadiyat, Abu Dhabi before of the public opening of the Art Fair: “Copper” by the Emirati artist Hassan Sharif and “Shukran” by the Iranian artist Farhard Moshiri, Bidaya, highlighting one emerging gallery and Artists’ Waves, an artist-led exhibition. Bliss is a programme of live and interactive performances. The concept will includes screenings of JR’s exceptional film “Les Bosquets”, inspired by French ghettos and the New York City Ballet. Durub Al Tawaya curated by Tarek Abou El Fetouh, returns for its 3rd edition, celebrating the ways in which contemporary art creates zones of cultural exchange by engaging with diverse archives and influences. The five diverse performances address questions of ownership, responsibility and preservation. Emirati Expressions presents a generation of Emirati artists exploring the role of art in society through multidisciplinary experimentation. Complementing the arts programme, this year’s Architecture Statement presents a discussion led by Jean Nouvel on the Rain of Light, the concept of the Louvre Abu Dhabi dome, a museum that incorporates cutting edge design but is nevertheless integrated into the traditional landscape and heritage of the Emirates. The Design programme will present the outcomes of the Design Lab workshop where students and graduates develop their architecture skills through a visual urban analysis of Abu Dhabi exploring the converging worlds of production and consumption.
