VIDEO:Weaving the Future II (Larissa)-Thalia Chioti

Thalia Chioti, belongs to the artists whose work is interwoven with knitting and the multiple readings and extensions that contain a traditional technique which has been transformed to art, through the concerns and searches of the contemporary artist. Chioti through a set of sweaters where the hands are joined creates sequences and dependencies, physical and psychological, that may in the past have seemed given or even nuisance. However at a time that everything in human relations has been destroyed by the pandemic, re-reading this work, created in 1997, only positive emotions and associations can be recalled from the personal and collective memory.
