VIDEO:Weaving the Future II (Larissa)-Efi Fouriki
Efi Fouriki in “Memoire fraiche” spreads a white embroidered apron in one bright box-installation, an artwork with multiple readings, which refers to the manners and customs of the wedding, in Greece they spread the bride’s dowries before the wedding, a custom with sociological and economic implications, but at the same time, it emphasizes the role of the woman in the family. Her own art, embroidery, is contained within her household and home and her value, in past times, is judged or criticized, within her multiple roles. Above all, however, how she contributes through her work, to the economic development of the family.
