VIDEO:Weaving the Future II (Larissa)-Ioanna Myrka

Ioanna Myrka, through the series “Bonsai Body”, turns personal trauma into universal, her artwork touches us and involves us on many levels, since she transforms in the most creative way, every difficulty in artistic practice and creation. She embroiders her body on linen canvas, which due its limited mobility presents it as a bonsai that also has a limitation in growth. But as all plants bloom, so does Bonsai even through restrictions, just as her own body blooms through the primordial dance and the luminous path of the soul that overcomes all the obstacles and difficulties of the body…
