Weaving The Future II (Larissa) Evangelia BasdekisΙn British slang “Charlie-Charlie” is the man who acts as outskirt. Throughout her multi-dimensional work, Evangelia Basdekis uses elements from extreme, grotesque forms of society in order to examine imitation’s unstable ontology, while as a metaphysical artist she defines a new persona who plays a multiple role which adopts multiple roles. The specific performance, from where the two photos come from, is defined by elements from the social, historical, political conditions of the artist’s life, which go beyond the limits of the body, the: racial, gender and authoritarian rules. The word ART is embroidered on her left wrist with the 3 basic colors used in painting in order to break the norms, the stereotype  and the canon of painting and high art. To acquire a popular and violent form and re-evaluate. The part of the body stitched is the wrist, referring to the suicidal act, the creator’s passion for the artistic vision and the despair of reality. She finishes by sewing the Jester bells on her palms and her feet. The viewer becomes a participant and partner in pain.
