Katsigras MuseumMaria-Marika Koenig having lived and shaped artistically in two worlds, between East and West, but also as a genuine Greek, in her work narrates  women’s history through objects-carriers of different versions of history and culture. On the recycled handmade paper, she places a wooden rice spoon filled with broken pieces of porcelain framed with lace sewn with red wool. This artwork incorporates the Immigrant’s Odyssey, since its elements, like the lace comes from the laces that the women brought with them from Asia Minor, while the objects refer to the kitchen utensils, necessary survival tool for refugees and migrants who carry in their baggage fragments of their own life, the memories and the pain that permeates the existence of a human being who feels a stateless person.
