PHOTO:Chloe Geitmann-Akrithakis & Vivian Avraamidou Ploumbis, PHOTOgraphs
The combination and the dialogue between two artists in an exhibition is normal, but the dialogue of an visual photographer like Chloe Geitmann-Akrithakis and the writer Vivian Avraamidou Ploumbis, involves the paradoxical and unexpected of the overturn, that makes the exhibition “PHOTOgraphs” at Gallery 7, even more interesting to the viewer. This is because the concept of chance is what creates the visual and verbal narrative. Vivian has been asking Chloe for her photos for a long time, Chloe is sending photos in different formats, seasons, in color or black and white and Vivian is choosing the ones that excite her and writes stories that are tender, humorous and emotionally affecting. The way the dialogue between the two artists unfolds is not only interesting, but it is worth visiting the exhibition since it runs until Saturday, April 17, since the artistic result, while someone would think it is like a diary, it is deeply poetic, creating an intermediate space where the viewer can penetrate, create, and feel his own experiences, memories, images and even phrases that while associated with Vivian’s wonderful texts, can simultaneously function independently. This is the success of this exhibition and the collaboration of the two artists will be followed by a very good katalogue; the connection and the independence at the same time of artists that coexist through poetry and harmony. -Efi Michalarou
