ART FAIRS:Paris FIAC 2015
One of the oldest and respectable Art Fairs, FIAC, opens for its 42nd edition at the Grand Palais in Paris. A major event for artistic creation, FIAC 2015 continues its development and confirms its status as a leading international Art Fair. Remaining attentive to the evolutions and concerns of contemporary creation, questioning the transformations of the careers of gallery owners and exhibition organizers as well as artistic practices themselves, leading prospective actions, being creative and responsive while ensuring a spirit of continuity with respect to the basic philosophy of the event, these are the founding principles of this 42nd edition of FIAC.

The FIAC 2015 will have 3 main sections: “FIAC”, the historical international fair held inside the Grand Palais, “Hors Les Murs” where artworks by famous contemporary artists exposed outside and “L’Officielle”, featuring young and promising galleries and artists, For the 42nd edition of this international arts scene mainstay, the Art Fair has reached for new heights, reflected in the impressive number of galleries represented: a total of 175 from 23 countries are displaying their 3124 artists’ works in the Grand Palais in Paris. Established in 2000 by the ADIAF (Association pour la Diffusion Internationale de l’Art Français) in partnership with the Centre Pompidou, National Museum of Modern art and FIAC, the Prix Marcel Duchamp is intended to promote the international recognition of artists working in France, in the domain of visual and fine arts. This year the nominated artists are: Davide Balula, Neil Beloufa, Melik Ohanian and Zineb Sedira. The works of these four artists will be exposed during the 42th edition of the FIAC in the Grand Palais, and the winner’s name will be announced the 24/10/15. Here, visitors can stroll, free of charge, and take in a diverse array of works by artists from around the world. The other section of FIAC, “L’Officielle”, is another contemporary art fair that is held almost at the same time as the FIAC, from 21-25/10. Held at the Cité de la Mode et du Design it is a chance for very young promising artists and galleries to expose their creations to the eyes of the world.
