OPEN CALL:Geneva School of Art and Design (HEAD) seeks HES Associate Lecturer, Dean of Studies
Geneva University of Art and Design (HEAD – Genève), is a major art and design school in Switzerland and its influence is internationally recognised. The school welcomes more than 750 students in 7 BA and 8 MA programs in the fields of Visual Arts, Cinema, Fashion Design, Jewelry and Accessories, Visual Communication, Illustration and Animation, Media Design and Interior Architecture. HEAD has established itself as one of the leading art and design schools in Europe. Employment contract: 80-100%
Main features of the position
Member of the Board of Directors, the Dean of Studies heads the Office of Studies, a service comprising a studies advisor and 4 secretaries, and to which is added the International Relations department, composed of a Head and a secretary.
Duties:
–Management of the Office of Studies and strategic supervision of the International relations Department
–General planning of the academic year, in accordance with theHES-SO’s academic calendar
–Coordination of HEAD’s academic strategy in close cooperation with the General Management and the Heads of departments and courses of study
–Control of the compliance and consistency of the various study plans and other regulatory texts
–Supervision, planning and control of all admission procedures and processes, certification procedures (ECTS, diplomas)
–Supervision and implementation of accreditation and quality control processes for training courses
–Supervision and coordination of the postgraduates offer of HEAD
–Supervision, planning and control of the student teaching evaluation process (EEE)
–Participation in the recruitment process for teaching and research staff
–Bachelor and / or Master level teaching
–Coordination of one or more development projects defined in the school’s strategic plans
All of these duties must be in line with HEAD’s development perspectives, namely:

–Participating in strengthening HEAD’s cultural program, in conjunction with its partners
–Encouraging actions aimed at respecting the diversity of people, inclusiveness and equal opportunities
–Encouraging actions aimed at ecological and social sustainability
Profile:
–Master’s degree from a University of Art or title deemed equivalent
–In-depth knowledge of the Swiss academic system
–Experience in leading or coordinating collaborators
–Proactivity in a rapidly changing academic environment, ability to propose innovations
–Ability to develop reflective thinking about one’s practice, including scientifically (publications or other research activities)
–Ability to integrate into collective projects within various teams
–Minimum 5 years of teaching experience in Design and / or Visual Arts or related fields
–Mastery of different forms of educational communication (oral and written expression, use of information and communication technologies (e-learning, etc.)
–Didactic qualifications attested or to be completed within 3 years
–Written and oral communication skills, and good organisational skills
–Fluency in French and English is essential. Proficiency in another language, particularly German, a plus.
–Previous experience of academic management at tertiary level is an asset, as is training in the field of management or project management.
