PERFORMANCE:Snežana Golubović-PFEIL / ARROW
PFEIL / ARROW is the second part of the performance-dilogy BOGEN + PFEIL / BOW + ARROW which was exclusively created for and dedicated to 100 years anniversary of Darmstadt Secession – 100 Jahre Darmstäder Sezession in 2019 in Darmstadt, Germany.
The first part – BOGEN (BOW) – which was shown on June 14th at the Centralstation, was a homage to all members of the Darmstadt Secession from its foundation until the present days (1919-2019).
The second part – PFEIL (ARROW) – was a poetical (arrow) flight, a journey through time, a path, a game, a breath, a view, an in/sight, a wish, a fantasy, a signpost, a dream, a rescue attempt, a hope… and was performed at the HLDM (Hessisches Landesmuseum Darmstadt) on September 11th 2019.
***************************
HERE AND NOW…
In a museum where earth and life history, animal world, shiny stones, Japanese art, Egypt, Greece, old and new art meet, where weapons and armour no longer kill and are only admired, where Bauhaus was just celebrated, where the Darmstadt Secession is at home as a dear guest and where Joseph Beuys “lives”…
On September 11th…
On September 11th 1609 Henry Hudson discovered Manhattan Island
On September 11th 1867 the first substantial edition of Karl Marx’s “Capital” was published
On September 11th 1903 Theodor Adorno was born
On September 11th 1944 in the “Brandnacht” in Darmstadt, during a major attack of the Royal Air Force, more than 11000 people died in a blazing inferno and almost 80% of the city centre was left as nothing but the ashes
On September 11th 1962 the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) was founded
On September 11th 1965, in Münster, The Rolling Stones were live on stage – for the first time in Germany
On September 11th 2001, the world held its breath watching the reports about the terror attacks in the USA – almost 3000 people lost their lives
On September 11, 2019 – on the day when forests are burning worldwide, animal species are dying out, the climate is changing drastically, wars are raging, almost 80 million people worldwide are on the run, children are dying of starvation, animals are feeding withplastic waste from the oceans, politicians spin and humanity runs in its greed, primitive hate, senseless aggression and stupidity faster and faster in a total self-destruction coming closer to an apocalypse – I want to „throw“ one ARROW into the direction of salvation, love and hope and dedicate this performance to the Earth.
