The series of the pictures in the work of Valerie Jouve, although externally seem unconnected and cause great confusion to the viewer and that because of the large and mostly the same format that she consciously uses, depending on the series of works, are alike frozen movie shots and oscillate between art photography and cinema, but without make clear their intentions. Although they contain common features such as the Mediterranean Landscape and strong emotions such as: neurosis, loneliness and melancholy that pervade faces and landscapes, and the fragile balance of emotions could through black & white version to enrapture the viewer, since the lack of color gives them a special poetic dimension as in the diptych of the exhibition, however the color in the most interesting exhibition, of the three exhibitions of the Jeu de Paume in Paris, originates to the viewer a feeling of indifference and a series of questions, such as, “Which is the purpose of this exhibition?”-Efi Michalarou
