MIRAGES LXII – dreamideamachine ART VIEW

After a very challenging but very productive April, since we opened a dialogue with young and older artists through the columns: “IN THE STUDIO” and “NEW ARTWORKS”, with Performers, presenting material from the their most recent Performances and with photographers flipping through Portfolios with their latest work, we have developed and will continue the Tribute “Weaving and other Practices”.

This month, in addition to the above columns, which we enrich with new artists, we will share with you some of the most interesting videos of artists, architects, but also new art special series. We will talk with the co-director and curator of Platforms Project, Artemis Potamianou for the new approach and presentation of art, through the internet, as well as with artists participating in Platforms Project 2020 which is carried out online with a rich and really very interesting program. A virtual plan view of the “Nikos Kessanlis” exhibition space of the Athens School of Fine Arts shows the platforms installed in their digital stands. Viewers can click on a platform’s number and title and see the works presented by each artist in the group (video-art, painting, photography, installations, etc). They will also be able to watch online a rich and varied program of lectures on contemporary art matters, in Greek and English, as well as the online performances and videos of the participating groups. Visitors to the new Platforms Project NET may engage in direct, real-time dialogue with the artists over the internet as part of the overall interactive experience.

It is promising the message that some galleries are slowly opening up in Europe starting with Austria and Germany.

Finally, do not forget our columns like: “STATEMENT” in which we have started looking at works of the international art scene in pairs which, while looking similar, they convey different messages, also the artists and the architects whose names are interwoven with this month, at the column “Traces”, the artists: James Turell, Jean Dibbets, Terezita Fernadez, Joseph Beuys, Frank Stella, Jasper Johns, Jean Tinguely, Mariza Merz, Nobuyoshi Araki, Carmen Herrera, Agnes Varda, Ellsworth Kelly; and the Architects: Herzog & de Meuron, Christian de Portzamparc, Gordon Bunshaft, I.M.Pei, Jose Rafael Aranda, Frei Paul Otto.
