ART FAIRS:Platforms Project 2020
The Platforms Project – Independent Art Fair stands today as the largest annual visual arts event in Greece, it is an international artist-run art fair which has been created since 2013, and it is an annual international meeting of artist groups-platforms. It is an international exhibition, which aims to map how art collectives work, and create channels of communication and cooperation with other countries.

The last two months the world experiences rapid developments due the COVID-19 pandemic. The Platforms Project, taking very seriously the events that are happening worldwide, the difficulty of many of the exhibitors to travel to Athens due the travel restrictions and the protection of the health of artists as well as its visitors, decided to postpone this year’s event. This year Platforms Project creates a new perspective on art viewing, the online art fair, Platforms Project Net that will give the opportunity the visitor to get in touch with the works of 800 artist with 63 platforms from 20 countries through a digital exhibition. Through a digital floor plan of “Nikos Kessanlis” exhibition space of the Athens School of Fine Arts, the platforms will be placed in their digital booths, the visitor will be able to click on the number and the name of the platform to see works exhibited each artist of the group, At the same time, the visitors will have the opportunity to watch online a rich and versatile program of speeches on topics related to contemporary art in Greek and English language, online performance and videos from the participating groups and come in direct contact and dialogue online with the artists on May 14-31, 2020.
