TRAVELER’S DIARY:Pierre Bonard at Musee d’Orsay

The artwork of a great artist, such as Pierre Bonard, in itself creates a series of issues and questions on the painting, light and color in both the specialist and the viewer. A large retrospective, as the one we vied at the Orsay Museum in Paris, includes works from all the periods, composing a full image of his work.

But every time I visit such exhibitions, the main question that arises in my departing, is ”What does this exhibition means for you? Why do you like it?” The truth is that this particular exhibition, did not simply liked me, it fascinated me, I had to travel a long distance both inner, as well as outdoors in the city, to manage and to realize it. An emotion that I do not happen often to me. Every now and then I am repeating the phrase Kessanlis: “Why I go abroad? To see again and again 2 or 3 great painters: Velázquez, Bonnard… I saw both of their exhibitions near their end, Velázquez in Grand Palais and Bonnard in Orsay Museum, the light in the word of Bonnard is amazing. It is so strong that it touches the sacred terror. A numinous exhibition this is the most important and the curating that creates a historical and conceptual route, a transition from the material to the immaterial, to the disembodiment…”
