TRAVELER’S DIARY: HYDRA BY ART-Part VI
On the occasion of the exhibition “AWE” curated by Dimitris Antonitsis in the context of Hydra School Project’s, we are making a visual tour in the narrow streets and the alleys of Hydra Island for the different spaces that he choose to presents artworks of the exhibition, on the occasion of the 20th edition of Hydra School Project’s. Explaining to our readers the history and the usage of each space, on an island whose every corner is intertwined with art and architecture, music and poetry. So, after the Merchant Marine Academy that is on show the main body of the works, we continue our tour at the port of Hydra from the jeweler’s shop “Greco Gold”, to the new shop “Electia” with clothes and jewelry that have a particular interest in their design; to the unique “Turquoise”, a store established in 1992 with ethnic clothes, jewelry and handbags, that you really want to buy them all, fit them in a bag and sail, since they travel you to Eastern worlds of magical fairytales full of colors and perfumes… after we make a stop to the shop with jewels and objects of the Internationally renowned jewelry designer Elena Votsi, who was born in Hydra, In her shop art converseς to sculpture, because her jewelry are just small sculptures waiting to be worn !!!-Efi Michalarou
