TRAVELER’S DIARY:The Annex of A.S.F.A. at Rhodes Island
The Annex of A.S.F.A at Rhodes Island is located in the front of the Palace of the Grand Master and is a monumental architectural ensemble of world historic importance. Constructed the era of the Grand Masters A. Fluvianla and J. De Lastic and coincides with the mid-term construction period between the 1st (1309-1350) and the 2nd (1476-1512) building period of the Knights. It is characterized by rectangular rooms 4 meters high covered with domes and doors with pointed arches, which have been preserved. The current building was restored in the 1930s, consists of ground floor and first floor with an area of 696 square meters, which communicate with external staircase and an inner yard, that houses artists, students and graduate of the School of Fine Arts and is the ideal place for study and inspiration.
