MIRAGES ΧΙΙΙ

In the past, this time of year, apart from the great museums and some major international galleries, the rhythms were relaxed and the mobility declined steadily, that I was thinking looking at the photo from the 56th Venice Biennal that was holding the lead but also and the visual interest of the Summer alive, together with Art Basel, Documenta at Kassel, Manifesta and Munster.

However in recent years, I note that the big events are multiplying and flooding the summer months in every corner of the earth, from the expected opening of the Garage Museum in Moscow, the building of which was designed by Rem Khoolhaas, the Biennal of Vienna, the great exhibitions: Ernesto Netto in Vienna, William Kedridge in Zurich, Shirin Neshat and Marina Abramovic in Australia, Andy Warhol in Metz, George Bazelitz and Paul Mc Carthy in Athens, together with a vast number of openings this month.

Tomorrow the Columns “Traces”, is devoted to the great land-artist Richard Long. Of course, we will beam at the Giardini, the Arsennale, the Palazzos, the parallel events, the institutions and the museums in the city of Venice … not only the first month of Summer… there is not enough space… we need as time, as it lasts, until… the end … November… until exhaustion
