OPEN CALL:Position as Post Doc Researcher at Gerrit Rietveld Academie /Sandberg Instituut
This call is aiming at experienced researchers (PhD), with a background in fine art, architecture, spatial design and/or urban planning.
The requested proposal summarizes a full, standalone research plan and -trajectory, and is related to the subject of “The Commons.” This plan must have a time span of two years, starting per January 1, 2019. The summary is not longer than 800 words and must be in English. Note:
The position of researcher will be combined with educational tasks for 50% of the 0,8 fte, aiming to relate the research project to Rietveld (BA) and Sandberg (MA) programmes which are relevant for the subject of the Commons (see the websites). The exact nature of these tasks shall be determined in cooperation with the heads of these programmes, when the chosen proposal will be elaborated into a full research trajectory towards January 2019.
With its research projects and educational programmes Gerrit Rietveld Academie and Sandberg Instituut aim to connect art education and (future) artistic practices to societal issues, in the Metropolitan Area of Amsterdam in particular.
The position will be part of the Lectorate Art and Public Space (LAPS), which is lead by professor Jeroen Boomgaard (PhD).
The duration of the position is two years and cannot be prolonged. Terms of employment are according to Dutch standards that apply for Universities of Applied Sciences in the Netherlands, CAO HBO (scale between 10 and 12, depending on previous experience etc.).

The proposal has a maximum of 800 words and is submitted with a CV. The deadline for submission is September 20, 2018
A committee will make a selection of three candidates before October 1, 2018. The selected candidates will be invited for an interview in the second week of October 2018. The committee will announce its decision before October 16, 2018.
