ART-REVIEW:Ori Gersht & Zadok Ben-David at Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature

Ori Gersht & Zadok Ben-David at Musée de la Chasse et de la NatureAfter the truly spectacular exhibition by Sophie Calle and Serena Carone, the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, continues dynamically its program of Contemporary Art exhibitions and Projections, combining in this way the artworks of a classical Museum associated with nature, with contemporary artists that deal with the nature and the very important issue of climate change. An issue that engages the dialogue in the in-situ installation “Forêts et cuieillettess” at the Museum’s courtyard, a proposition by atelier le balto, co-produced by l’École Nationale Supérieure de paysage de Versailles and the Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, that for us is the best artwork(!) Unfortunately this time, due the reason that the exhibits of the Museum are very intense and powerful, it is very difficult for the visitor to distinguish the artworks of the exhibitions that are scattered in space, and also are fewer than the previews one. Thus Ori Gersht’s “Falling Bird” that evokes the idea of an ecological disaster and “Blackfield” by Zadok Ben-David that plays with perception and perspective, questioning life and death; and are exhibited as part of the France-Israel Season 2018although they are remarkable since both artists worked on the theme of nature and hunting and the myth represented by Goddess Artemis, seem to be swallowed by the emblematic space and even more emblematic permanent Collection(!)-Efi Michalarou
