OPEN CALL:Proposals for Forecast Platform
Forecast is an international platform for knowledge transfer that is now calling on pioneers from diverse disciplines to submit their project ideas by December 20, 2017. This year’s lineup of mentors: designer Tulga Beyerle (Austria) in the field of Invasive Design, curator David Elliott (United Kingdom) in the field Looking, artist Laura Lima (Brazil) in the field of Living Matter, video artist Omer Fast (Israel/Germany) in the field Moving Image, musician Holly Herndon (USA) in the field Composition, and curator and producer Peter Meanwell (United Kingdom/Norway) in the field Beyond Radio—are offering their expertise and will invite 30 creative minds to present their concepts during the Forecast Forum 2018, at Haus der Kulturen der Welt (HKW).
Forecast encourages interdisciplinary exchange and public discussion on ideas of the future. The platform offers participants the chance to work with accomplished mentors toward bringing their projects to fruition. Forecast transcends the boundaries of disciplines and genres to provide insight into creative production processes, and makes space for the questions that are on the minds of the next generation of trailblazers.
From November 15 to December 20, 2017, creative minds from anywhere in the world working in various disciplines may submit their proposals. Forecast will invite 30 applicants to discuss their ideas and present them to the public at HKW during the Forecast Forum from May 7 to 13, 2018.
At the end of the Forecast Forum, the six mentors will each select one concept, which they will accompany to fruition. The outcome of these collaborations will be presented during the Forecast Festival at HKW, on October 12 and 13, 2018. The mentees benefit from a production budget plus travel and accommodation costs, the use of equipment and spaces at HKW, and support in achieving further collaborations and/or funding.
Application deadline: 20/12/17
