OPEN CALL:MFA Art Practice
The Art Practice program at School of Visual Arts (SVA) is now accepting applications for summer 2018 admission. Art Practice is a low-residency, interdisciplinary graduate program. A carefully selected, small group of candidates come together at SVA’s NYC campus for three successive, intensive summer residency periods. Participants combine personal narrative with critical theory to create works that comment on social issues.

MFA Art Practice aims to facilitate a global conversation about the arts. Artists in the program engage in research-based practices, and are encouraged to converse and collaborate across subject matters using a combination of traditional and non-traditional media, technologies and techniques. Ultimately, the program aims foster an atmosphere of risk-taking and experimentation, and to create a community of artists and culture producers who look beyond a consensus driven approach to how we define what’s important in contemporary art.
Applications: Applications received after January 15 will be reviewed in the order received, space permitting. Detailed application and portfolio requirements can be found on the Art Practice website.
