PERFORMANCE:Locus-Recollection-Landscape (The Ruins Inside Me)
The online art magazine www.dreamideamachine.com, linking the history of Salamis with Contemporary Art, completed the cycle of performances titled “Locus-Recollection-Landscape” with Angelos Skourtis’ Performance “The Ruins Inside Me” on Sunday 1/1/17 at the Fighters Tomb of the Naval Battle of Salamis in Kynosoura peninsula. At the place that gave birth to Euripides, the visual artist Angelos Skourtis focused on women and presented the Performance “The Ruins Inside Me”, a reference to Euripides, who centuries ago brought to the foreground the suffering, the bitterness, disdain and the oppression of women in a male-dominated system, which even today is the same and tortures women in many parts of the world but also in Greece. A world that today makes the same mistakes, the same sexual discriminations.-Efi Michalarou
