Georgia Paraschi is interested in people’s relationships, but also in the relationship with our self, and how it is reflected through the internal opposition, conflicts and antinomies, the way that these entire different characteristic are balance and create new emotions. The colors used by the artist in her work are vivid, intense and forceful; her aesthetic refers to the tapestries of the 70’s, as well as the carelessness of her couples, that is contradictory to our era and seems to spring from the innocent years of the old days. In Georgia Paraschi’s series of works “The step beside”, color plays a key role in the creation of a sense of optimism about human existence and coexistence. Even in her black and white painting, we note that the red color plays the role of a parenthesis, like a semicolon. This journey through the fabric and the unlimited possibilities of the medium, allows Georgia Paraschi, to try its limits, from the pictorial to the abstraction, and allows to her to infiltrate deeper into the essence of tasks and relationships, to emphasize the emotions. Like Pavlos Skouras writes about her artwork “Paraschi’s painting does not praise love, neither promises it. It describes the steps side by side and lets them to promise a kiss, a touch, a dream, until the schematic of the colors unveils the uncertainty of the next moment”.
