ART-REVIEW:Oplostasio/Texnis
One of the important representatives of the generation of ’70s, Dimitris Alitheinos, over a year, suggests at the Oplostasio/Texnis, (a small space opposite the Pritanion, which owns the space, at the Milioni Street in Kolonaki), a number of older and younger artists. “The unremembered and the children of crisis”, as he said characteristically, since he acts, not only as a curator, but also with the moral, the emotional status and the consequence of the artist. One project, really very interesting and challenging, since Dimitris Alitheinos is aiming, is to introduce to the young audience, artists like Valerios Kaloutsis (his exhibition inaugurated the space), but also this period with the exhibition of Yiorgos Tougias, with works that represent and carry the stigma of his time and 3 poems. Dimitris Alitheinos wants to play an educational role, approaching a wider audience that passes from the busy pedestrian and succeeds this aim very well. The homage to Yiorgos Tougias is truly a very good reminder for the older audience and probably the best invitation for the younger.-Efi Michalarou
