MIRRAGES XXXIII

 

February with the blooming almond trees conveys the message of spring. But in the art world is a month that looks quiet, because there are not inaugurated large exhibitions and certainly no important events. However we will traverse this month through images linked to the city and the landscape from Rome to Paris.

We will talk with very interesting artists in the Interview column, like the Casablanca-born, Paris-based artist Bouchra Khalili that presents at Lisson Gallery in London, a very interesting work, focused on emigration and the search for an earthly paradise. On the other hand the German artist Gregor Hildebrandt at Almine Rech Gallery in Paris, takes us back to our adolescence age and the memories written on the tapes and LPs. Her boat house on the Dubai Creek and also her new office in Iran is the occasion to have a talk with the famous interior architect Leen Vandaele. The month closes with a joint discussion about the global political and the social developments and how they affect the world of art and the artists, raised from our magazine in cooperation with the organizers of LISTE Art Fair.

Also in February have left their Traces the Architects: Alvar Aalto and Frank Ghery, and the Artists: Gerhard Richter, YokoOno, Lucio Fontana and Martin Kippenberger. And of course together we page through the most interesting books of the month.
