ART FAIRS:Supermarket 2016 Stockholm
Supermarket is an Art Fair run by artists. Artist-run galleries and similar initiatives from around the world show the work of hundreds of artists at the Fair. With its clear mission and its program for networking meetings, Supermarket has become a unique platform for Swedish and international artists.

Since its beginnings in 2007, Supermarket has established itself as a global platform for the artist-run art scene, a unique art project that brings together galleries and artists from all over the world. Every year the Fair focuses on a theme that highlights current issues and brings new perspectives to ongoing debates. For 2016 Supermarket presents 61 artist-run galleries and other initiatives from 40 cities from all over the world exhibit at Svarta Huset this year, including the performance gallery Galeria Raczej from Poznan in Poland, Intimnoe mesto and Luda Gallery from St Petersburg, and Mote 078 Gallery from Columbus in the United States. Over 100 artists are present at the Fair including artists from Syria, Egypt, Canada, Turkey and South Africa. Supermarket 2016 examines how the artist-run network has changed over the last 10 years. More on the program is Talks with seminars, and the performance stage Red Spot, showing experimental and innovative performance acts by Swedish and international artists. Meetings is a program which allows participating artists and artists who work as exhibition organisers, project managers, curators and other professionals to meet each other and discuss various issues surrounding their gallery and the wider art world.
