MIRAGES XXIII
April in the Orthodox tradition is month which balances between Charmolipi.
Art blossoms like the Spring (!)
The openings and the exhibitions follow one another, trough Art Fairs, Museums and Galleries, from Santa Fe or Los Angeles to Cologne, Brussels and Milan. From the big group exhibitions like ‘’A History: Contemporary Art from the Centre Pompidou’’, at Haus der Kunst in Munich, a truly interesting exhibition with works from the Centre George Pompidou Collection, to the traveling exhibition: “CERAMIX-Art and Ceramics from Rodin to Schütte” on presentation simultaneously at La maison rouge in Paris and at Cité de la Céramique in Sèvres or the exhibition: “Capa in Color” at Jeu de Paume. Also is worth mentioning the Collection of Migros Museum in Zurich, that will introduce it to our readers in two parts, also the exhibition “Water Projects” with drawings of Christo & Jean Claude, Curated by Germano Celant at Vrescia Museum in Italy.
This month is full of Memories and Traces, from Dan Flavin and Giuseppe Penone to Nancy Holt, Tony Cragg, Victor Vasarely, Keneth Noland, Chris Burden, Bridget Riley, Cy Twobly and Yves Klein. We have not forgot Nadar (Father of Photography), the precious Robert Doisneau or the untamed Lee Miller. Also the famous Pritzker Prize Award-Winning Architects: Jørn Utzon, James Stirling, I. M. Pei and Peter Zumthor.
The Architects International Community Grieves for the death of the very Active Pritzker Award Winner Architect Zaha Hadid: “So there are many places which are really excellent, as there are extraordinary artworks. Generally there are wonderful things in life, which is a blessing to be able to enjoy them… all these are privileges that should not be enjoyed by few. For me, the link between all these is Architecture”.
Good Month (!)
