The group exhibition “Tempus Ritualis”, is presented in collaboration with artists, arts organizations, and art education institutions after Thessaloniki in Berlin. The idea, the organization and curation of the exhibition, belongs to: Christina Dimitriadis, Christine Nippe and Evanthia Tsantila. The exhibition has two contradictory terms “Tempus” a word that means the present and “Ritualis” meaning ritual, the combination of these two terms, expresses concern over the nature of the present time and the ability to produce new sequels. Since the beginning the financial crisis in 2009 the Greek society has changed rapidly. What developmentς had been made on Greek social microscale? Are there, however, despite the crisis, new developments in the social sphere? For example, to what extent can we find a stronger social cohesion, a continuous dialogue and a more intimate atmosphere in the artistic community? And how do we redefine concepts such as communities in crisis, collectives, locality production or even friendship? All these issues concern the artists and the curators, who have close and direct relationship with Greece and Germany, is one other negotiation and look of this relationship through art. ‘’Tempus Ritualis’’ combines multiple perspectives from Greece and abroad, through the practices of different artists who create new projects and engage in dialogue. Collects sources of knowledge and imagination. This visual material could be used in the future as a record of a historical moment, as a way to reopen memory. It also examines archival processing both of contemporary and historical knowledge, as well as their relationship with artistic works, collective forms and mechanisms of identity production.
