ART-REVIEW:quite life
The black & white drawings of Nikos Kanarelis, focus on details of everyday life that is happening in the context of house, like the floor of a house, or a child’s toy plane that is leaning against a book. The simple small everyday objects, with the pencil and the narrative visual drawing of the artist, seems like cropped film noir stills, that carry the agonizing combined with playful, the wet dream together with the myth that is adjacent to a post-comics drawing. Nikos Kanarelis in Elika Gallery creates a “quite life” world, both close and palpable, that trough the perfectionism of the drawing, the visitor empathizes with meanings such as intimate and intimacy, contained and reflected in all the expressions.-Efi Michalarou
