PERFORMANCE:Angelos Skourtis-SSS/PHUSS

My participation as performer at the dance group Utopies Spyros Koun (due to coronavirus lockdown, before its inauguration was postponed for later), Is my last performance that I present you trough photographs, It’s title “SSS/PHUSS:While you carry time our bodies hodies hold history” is a free reference in Albert Camus’ “The Myth of Sisyphus”. As the choreographer and creator of the group, Spyros Kouvaras says “Disobedience, Rebelliousness, Transcendence, Free Will and Self-Consciousness are the concepts that underlie the whole action of  Dance and Performance”. I wish these days of our confinement to end quickly and to see you when you come to see us.-Angelos Skourtis

CV: Angelos Skourtis studied at the Academia di Belle Arti in Florence, and went on  study media under theoretician professor Pio Baldelli  as scholar  at the Porta Romana  state institute of Art. Since his early career, he performed interventions-actions in art venues ( Desmos Art Galllery 83) in several solo exhibitions and importand  group shows in Greece, Cyprus, Germany, Italy, Belgium,  Sweden and Canada. In1991,he represented Greece at the Alexandria Biennale, where he won an award, and at OPEN Venice2003, he has also received AICA Hellas 2012 Award for his work between 2009-11 . His work features in the Nasional Gallery, EMST in Athens and several Private and Public Collections.
