Through collaborations and exchanges with major international festivals and organizations, Video Art Miden has been recognized as one of the most successful and interesting video art platforms internationally and as an important cultural exchange point for Greek and international video art. It also provides an alternative meeting point for emerging and established artists and a communication hub between artists, organizations, festivals and art spaces around the world. Video Art Miden participates in the special tribute “Video art & Action art”, of Art Madrid 2020, a collaboration between the Art Madrid Art Fair and PROYECTOR Video Art Platform, curated and coordinated by Mario Guttierez Cru. This cycle of projections brings together a selection of the award-winning pieces and finalists of the main international festivals dedicated to moving image. The programming has been done on some of the most representative video art events of today. For all visitors to the fair, this is the perfect opportunity to enter this fascinating discipline and enjoy the best of international contemporary video creation. Video Art Miden will present two screening units, the Greek video art program “Anatomy of silence“, Curated by Gioula Papadopoulou a selection of Greek video art, which gathers visual works that silently but sharply comment on human existence, through strong symbolic images and minimalistic actions curated by Gioula Papadopoulou: and the international selection “The way it looks back at you“, a program presents 8 videos which deal with a hypnotic re-cycling of time, creating powerful images coming from a world of dreams –or from a present future curated by Gioula Papadopoulou and Maria Bourika. “Anatomy of silence“ will also travel for a gallery exhibition Milan, at [.BOX] Videoart Project Space. Additionally, another Greek video art program curated by Gioula Papadopoulou, entitled “Inscapes”, will be exhibited online at the web videoart channel VisualcontainerTV, the program may be accessible at all hours at: www.visualcontainer.net.
