Dimitris Lempesis – dreamideamachine ART VIEW

Dimitris Lempesis (born1961) is President of dreamideamachine Art View Association (Kolonou 55-59, Metaxourgio, Athens). Journalist-Director of online art magazine www.dreamideamachine.com & Visual Artist. dreamideamachine resident Athens, designs, organizes & implements: Contemporary Art Exhibitions, Publications, Lectures, Workshops, etc. Dimitris Lempesis is member of the Association of European Journalists (2013- ) and he is the Inspirer and the Publisher of the on-line visual arts magazine dreamideamachine ART VIEW, that started March of 2014 through a series of discussions and searches after research of many months and the brief but effective creation of the short lived esartpresso e-mag. He is responsible for the column of photography and the photo-editing.

Between June-December 2012, he was the Photo Editor of the on-line newspaper www.ctvmag.gr. On the occasion of the above magazine and its preparation he made a series of trips (in Greece and Abroad) for business, involving many different photo-projects. Dimitris Lempesis is exhibiting in Group Exhibitions as a Photographer and has participated in Publications. He is photographing Artworks for Portfolios as well as works in Major Museums & Galleries of Greece and Abroad (professionally).

Together with his colleague and partner, Efi Michalarou has conducted a series of interviews with famous Artists and Architects such as: Bob Wilson (2015), Christiane Lӧhr (2015), Entang Wiharso (2015), Marylin Arsem (2016), Hala Warde (2016), Piero Golia (2017), Gregor Hildebrandt (2017), Gullielme Piens (2017), Manolis Babousis (2017), Adrew Rogers (2017), Leevi Haapala (2017), Arja Miller (2017), Rik Reiking (2017), Chiharu Shiota (2017), Peter Blauer (2017). PROJECTS & WORK IN PROGRESS…

2015: He photographs exhibitions in Museums & Galleries in Paris, who based for more than half a year
2014-2013: With the close cooperation with the A.S.F.A. (Athens School of Fine Arts) and the Rector of A.S.F.A. Mr. Yiorgos Harvalias, photographed the Annexes of the School at Mykonos, Hydra and Rhodes Islands and the annex at Delphi town (interiors, laboratories, exteriors and the surroundings). Notable is that these buildings are of traditional architectural culture of each place.
2014-2013: At the same time with the above project, he photographed Mykonos, Dilos and Rhodes islands. While in Rhodes he makes focus on individual city monuments, such as: The Grand Palace, the Islamic Library, the Archaeological Museum and of course the Street of the Knights, without neglecting to record through his lens the old town, the harbor and the proximity and the influences of cultures from the Venetians, the Turks and the modern Greeks.
2014-2013: He photographed the Fresh Hotel and the Radisson Bleu Hotel in Athens, on the occasion of the art and presentation of exhibitions. In the guest rooms, the reception, but also in the public spaces, respectively.
2013: The first days of 2013, he shoots “Τhe other side of Tinos Island”, through landscape, nature and architecture.
2013: He photographs the light & the shadows of Aegina Island, with starting point the energy triangle.
2014: Records the two opposite sides of Delphi, through history and nature.
2014-2012: He shoots systematically, Athens city, in a personal- art mapping of the city where graffiti of the center, become like artworks of homeless, the classic architecture marriage with the modern architecture in project “Athens Dream”, is like a dance between light and shadows. Faces and characters to alternate in the streets, they are major protagonists of national holidays and ethnic feast like Africa Festival, and other interesting street events.
2014-2012: Having appeal and love in art he captures through his lens, exhibitions such as of the famous Swiss contemporary artist Urs Fischer at Deste Foundation in Hydra island, performances and artworks in exhibitions such as the group exhibition “Violence” in Athens, but also the dance performance of the Whirling Dervishes at the Badminton Theatre in Athens. Important exhibitions such as “Félix ZIEM, j’ai rêvé le beau – Peintures et aquarelles” in the press conference at Petit Palais in Paris and the big exhibition which presents the Islamic World, History and Culture, in the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris, again.
2014-2012: Monuments such as the Palace of Trajan in Rome, the buildings and the city from above and of course the architecture of the Museums listed above.
2013- : He started the project with the title “Mirage” which is work in progress… Is combination between different icons and worlds.
2014-2004: He is evolving the project “The Face of the City” where the cities are photographed like photographing a persona and the persons are photographed as landscapes. It started from the empress capital of past eras Moscow in June 2004, directed towards the magnificent Far East and the noisy Kuta of Indonesia, the Mecca of electronic goods Bankongk of the exotic Thailand and he returned to Europe and the city-museum Rome, the dreamy and romantic Paris, the city of the light and Athens the city with the 1.000 different faces, the exotic Cairo and he continues …
2005-1985: He has collected a series of different icons from the Mountains, Landscapes and Caves of Greece. He captures the flora and fauna of Greece, with emphasis on natural beauty of Kerkini Lake, Plastira Lake, the Cave system of Diros Cave, the traditional Architecture of Zagoria – Epirus, the life on the river Voidomatis, the dematerialization of the divine-human relationship on the rocks of Meteora, and the specific nature of his birthplace Hydra Island.
