The institution “Theorems” was proposed and named in 2017 by the then President of AICA Greece, Emmanuel Mavrommatis, after many difficult years for the organization. The purpose of creating this institution was to be repeated every two years in the form of an exhibition, and members of AICA Greece were invited to propose up to three artists on a specific theme. The selection of the artists and the works would reflect Greek artistic production and the process of its creation.

The first exhibition was presented in 2018, with curators, art critics, art historians, and artists who would engage, collaborate, and intervene in the art field around a theme that would differentiate and evolve according to the characteristics and key issues of each period. For the Theorems 3 exhibition: “BODY. A Field of Competition”, 25 curators, art theorists, and art critics who are members of the Greek section of AICA propose 58 artists. With the theme of “Human/Non-human/Post-human Body as the axis, they will showcase the function of art as an alternative educational tool with the potential for dynamic intervention in the social fabric. The effort to understand contemporary relationships concerning our perceptions of corporeality, through the understanding of the multiple identities that coexist in the public sphere, permeates the exhibition, which features installations, structures, sculptures, paintings, photographs, drawings, videos, and actions. The exhibition is accompanied by a bilingual catalog (Greek-English) with introductory texts by Artemidos Potamianou, Emmanouil Mavrommatis, and Ella Leventaki, as well as texts by the curators about the works in the exhibition, photographs of the works, and biographies of curators and artists.
